Shower VS Bath

Time to get all clean...what do you do Bathe or Shower? What team are you on?

In my head showers were the way to go! I thought of the bathtub as something you do when you are young. You fill with bubbles and play. If you are like me you probably bathed with a family member or friend. For me it was always with my cousin or my best friend (My sisters were much younger than me). I never thought of an adult bath as something that was relaxing. OMG ADHD moment...I'll never forget the GROSSEST thing ever...one of my bath mates one day (not mentioning who) actually pooped in there once while bathing with me...so yeah not a bath fan!!!

Seriously my thoughts on baths were that they were absolutely DISGUSTING (no not because I was traumatized by floating turds). Like who wants to sit in a vat of their own dead skin cells and filth!!!! OMG and is it actually going IN my V? Seriously I know I have the most ridiculous thoughts sometimes but I can't be the only one right? Then of course in true Melinda fashion I am like OMG what if a murder comes in and I'm just sitting here in my vat of filth just waiting for someone to come kill me!!! By the time I get up from here I'm dead...that's it I'm going to die here. OMG I just gave them the way out...they could drown me and say I fell asleep!!! My son is NOT coming in to get me out all cold and dead and covered in my own filth because I am naked...CLEARLY he will have nothing to do with that!!! Then at this point I am completely hyperventilating. LOL seriously...I'm a MESS. Showers it is!

Now I am ALL for the hot tub here in my complex. (shhh its different...don't ask how...my brain just thinks it is...seriously If i could explain how my brain works I'd be a bajillionaire). Now that thing has not been working for the past month or so. I have severe back pain on a good day...so now with this whole cancer bull poopy my bones HURT!!! I would LOVE to sit in my hot tub but CLEARLY this complex hates me and they are renovating...blah blah blah. I NEEDED a bath. So I start my research...I had to find a way to make this WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY less stressful.

Bath bombs...I have tried them...they are cool while they are fizzing up and smell awesome...but I then start to panic immediately after. So yep that doesn't work. So I continue my research...bubbles....um what am I 5? How the even heckie is that going to relax me?????? Reading....hmm...maybe...but I need a back up plan. One site even suggested a blindfold, music, and candles. OK wait...you had me with music....I might be able to rock with the candles....but then I'm sure my bathtime killer could probably burn me to death. But a BLINDFOLD?????? OK now you are just OUT OF YOUR DANG MIND!!!! I need to see what is happening....what if my bathtime killer has ninja stealth skills????? THIS IS NOT GOING TO WORK.

So I decided to take a deep breaths and look at the benefits. I start to research those. I find that dermatologists agree that it is good for aging and adult acne because it helps lower your cortisol levels (a stress hormone). OK I DO NOT see that happening....I'm now thinking this is going to increase my cortisol levels and CLEARLY they are telling me that if the bath-time killer does not get me...I will come out looking like a 95 year old ball of puss because I already struggle with bacne. This whole bath-time thing is looking like an EPIC FAIL. So I read on...relieves sore muscles....OK THIS is what I needed....Epsom salt, good smells, and relieving sore muscles...OK I'm slightly listening again. I read that baths are just as clean if not CLEANER than showers????? UM EXCUSE ME? So according to some so called hygiene experts unless you are extra dirty like sweaty or just came back from a mud run (nope not me)...that baths are just as good. The dirt actually travels away from your body and dissipates in the water???? PLUS the steam from the warm water gently opens your pores and releases the dirt???? WAIT WHAT???? So its NOT a vat of filth? They they go on to say they are good for your skin. Why? Because both baths and showers can strip your skin of essential oils...but in a bath you can put in all those additives...those bombs, oils, and Epsom...they are actually good for your skin and absorbing them and nourishing you as you sit there. OMG OK NOT what I was expecting. This could be good...I have super dry skin....like write on my legs like they are a chalkboard...could maybe get confused for doing cocaine off my legs dry! The trick is to slather lotion on as soon as you get out. This really traps that moisture and all those essential oils and good stuff in.

OK so at this point I'm like alright Mr. Bath Murderer!!! You are not coming to kill me today!!! I GOT THIS! So I lock all doors and check windows and be sure that my son is alive and well with my dog (you know he needs protection too...Daisy wont let bath killer in to get him) I grab the copy of Marie Claire that I just got in the mail (because duh it was a free subscription and I need to keep up with my beauty and fashion trends), I grab my Victoria Secret bath bomb in Shell Yeah (kinda smells like beach ocean and sunscreen) that I had picked up with the gift card yesterday...and I am ready to go. I slathered on my Younique face exfoliating mask (showered with my dove beauty bar because um I am still crazy and just cant wrap my brain around it), then proceeded to fill the bath. I told myself that no matter what you will FINISH this Marie Claire magazine. You will go through with it and even if Mr. Bath Murderer comes...he just has to wait till I'm done! I had my Bath and Body Works Sweet Pea lotion AND body spray on standby for post shower needs....I GOT THIS!

OMG I LOVE BATHS!!! OH and I still smell amazing this morning....the smells actually stayed longer on me because I don't know...they soaked in???? NO CLUE but I LOVE BATHS!!!!
